A typical time of transition approaches… whether you call it “end of summer”, “beginning of fall”, “back to school” or time to “get back to work”.  Things are changing.

Going from this to that is transition.  Transition is change.  Change is stress.  Stress is the movement of energy in the body… even when the stress is good.  Transition can cost a lot of energy, leaving you vulnerable and unadaptive, when you don’t even expect it.

Keep an eye out and be kind to yourself when transition comes.  It costs more energy than is readily visible and requires you to notice and respond differently to the situation.

Some other transitions to think about:

  • Daylight savings time
  • Going into or out of a vacation/holiday
  • Getting back to your fitness routine, or leaving your fitness routine
