Mindfulness Meditation Program
Our mindfulness program consists of learning meditation techniques and mindfulness skills used in daily life. We meet in small groups (12-16 people) for 1.5 hours a week over 8 weeks. During that time you will be gently guided through a learning experience that will help you get the most out of your time.
8 Week Mindfulness Meditation Program Learning Intentions
By the end of 8 weeks you will:
- Re-find the connection between your mind and body; and take back control.
- Reconnecting with yourself and reclaiming your life.
- Develop a budding meditation practise and a mindful approach or living
Class One Learning Intentions
- Opening Meditation: Experience your first meditation in our group – Senses Meditation (6 minutes)
- Tap into the `Big Why`of your participation in this Mindfulness Meditation Program.
- Learn how to work safely and comfortably in a group setting.
- Learn about mindfulness and meditation.
- Learn about the benefits of meditation.
- Mindfulness Principle of the week: “Beginner’s Mind”
- Learn the 3 Ps of meditation.
- Closing Meditation: Practice group meditation (5 minutes)
Class Two Learning Intentions
- Opening Meditation: Group meditation (5 Minutes)
- Recall and connect with your “Big Why” and your goals for being in our program.
- Understand the process of changing our behaviours and unwrapping old patterns.
- Mindfulness Principle of the week: “Non-Judgement“
- Explore judgments and their impact on the Body-Mind.
- Begin to learn about and feel the powerful connection between mind and body.
- Build a Mediation Plan
- Closing Meditation: Group meditation (10 minutes)
Class Three Learning Intentions
- Opening Meditation: Practicing meditation as a group (5 minutes)
- Mindfulness Principle of the week: “Trust”
- Refine your knowledge and application of Posture in meditation
- Learn about the Stress Bucket model of energy and stress management.
- Begin to learn about what is in your Stress Bucket.
- Closing Meditation: Group meditation (15 minutes)
Class Four Learning Intentions
- Opening Exercise: Progressive Muscle Relaxation technique (15 minutes)
- Mindfulness Principle of the week: “Letting Go”
- Troubleshoot your personal Four P`s Meditation Practice
- Closing Meditation: Group Meditation (15 minutes)
Class Five Learning Intentions
- Opening Meditation: Learn about Wave Breathing
- Mindfulness Principle of the week : “Patience”
- Explore how you got here and what is taking your energy.
- Reflect on uncomfortable thoughts and feelings during meditation
- Closing Meditation: Body Scan Meditation (15 minutes)
Class Six Learning Intentions
- Opening Meditation: Self-compassion meditation (15-20 minutes)
- Self-Compassion exercise
- Mindfulness Principle of the week: “Compassion and Kindness”
- Relationships:
- Closing Meditation: Group Meditation (15 minutes)
Class Seven Learning Intentions
- Opening Meditation: Group Meditation (5-10 minutes)
- Visualisations – meditation: using new found attention and focus
- Mindfulness Principle of the week: “Non-Striving”
- Focus on creating results in our life
- R.A.I.N. strategy for unwinding an emotional hijack
- Closing Meditation: Guided Visualization (10-15 minutes)
Class Eight Learning Intentions
- Opening Meditation: Group Meditation (5-10 minutes)
- How to continue your mindfulness and meditation practice
- Exercise: “How far I’ve come” – Reflect on intentions in course, plan next goals, etc.
- Closing Meditation: Journey Meditation about Presence to our successes, learnings and process

- the importance of living in the moment;
- how this relates to less suffering;
- improved resistance to stress;
- living more true to themselves
Mindfulness assists in remaining calmer and more controlled despite the challenges of everyday life.

About the sessions:
Classes run 1.5 to 1.75 hours with a 10 minute break in the middle.
We facilitate an open, honest, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We try to accommodate as many special needs as we can during class. You are welcome to bring your own chair, pillow or other assistive to make your time as comfortable as possible. Animal assistants are welcome.
