Dr. Adam Bletsoe · Body-Mind Chiropractor

Life is better when you don’t have to think about your body all the time.

Pain has a way of changing that.

If you’re hurting, worried about what it means, or finding that the things you normally do are getting harder, let’s figure out what’s going on—and what will actually help.

Dr. Adam Bletsoe

I don’t want to assume I know why you hurt before I’ve met you.

Sometimes there’s an injury or physical problem that needs care. Sometimes pain lingers after healing, comes and goes without an obvious reason, or is influenced by things happening elsewhere in the body and life.

Often, it’s some combination.

So we’ll listen, assess your body, understand the pattern, and look at the bigger picture—including what you’re trying to get back to.

A moment from practice...

A teacher came to see me after a gentle Yin yoga class left her with intense back pain.

What bothered her wasn’t only the pain. It was what the pain seemed to say about her body:

“If I can’t even do gentle yoga without this happening, what can I safely do?”

That’s often where our work begins.

Not with an answer. With understanding.

Understand first. Then decide what to do.

Sometimes what we find is fairly straightforward.

And sometimes the pieces don’t quite fit the story you’ve been given.

Maybe the injury has healed but the pain hasn’t. Maybe symptoms move, flare or settle in ways that don’t make sense. Maybe what’s happening in the rest of your life seems to matter more than anyone expected.

That’s when we can get curious.

What if there’s more to the story?

What if your body isn’t as damaged or fragile as you’ve feared?

What if some of what you’re experiencing can change?

What if your body isn’t the problem after all?

Maybe you’re not broken.

Sometimes a different understanding changes what becomes possible next.

Understanding matters because it helps us choose what to do next.

Depending on what we find, that might include hands-on chiropractic care, movement and strength, mind-body approaches, nervous-system regulation, or gradually returning to something you’ve stopped trusting your body to do.

There isn’t one treatment everybody needs.

We figure out what’s most useful for you, start with what’s available, and build from there.

Each step gives your body another experience of being capable.

A moment from practice...

A patient came to see me worried that his back pain was going to ruin an upcoming road trip to Montreal with his daughter.

The trip mattered to him. But suddenly the drive, the sitting and the uncertainty about his back had become part of everything he was thinking about.

We worked with his body, but also with what the pain meant to him and how much he could trust himself to go.

When I saw him afterward, what stayed with me wasn’t simply that his pain had settled.

He’d taken the trip. He’d been present with his daughter. And his confidence in his body had changed.

That’s what we’re working toward.

Not simply a better pain score.

Getting you back to your life.

I’ve been a chiropractor for more than twenty years, and my own experiences with persistent pain changed the way I practise.

So when we work together, expect me to look wider.

We’ll pay attention to your body, but also to the things that influence it—your nervous system, recovery, confidence, stress, beliefs and the life you’re trying to live.

That’s why I describe myself as a body-mind chiropractor.

I still love hands-on care. I love movement. And I love helping someone experience their body differently.

I prefer fewer, longer and deeper visits because I want enough time to listen, assess, explain, work with your body and help you leave with something useful.

You bring your experience, your goals and your life. I bring clinical experience, curiosity and care. We figure it out together.

Because the goal isn’t simply less pain.

The goal is more life.

You don’t need a perfect body.

And you don’t have to spend the rest of your life trying to manage every little thing your body does.

Let’s start there.
