I sense a real possibility for using this time as an opportunity for creating more peace, joy, meaning and fulfillment in our lives. This time is allowing us to see what’s really important to us, who we want to be and where we want to go with a clarity that wasn’t available during the go-go-go of our lives a couple months ago.
To say this has been an interesting time is clearly an understatement. This may be quite possibly one of the most challenging times that any of us can remember. It’s hard to stay focused through the stress and change to take full advantage of this opportunity. And, many clients tell me they don’t know what to do to make that shift.
I can really connect with that. I’ve had 3 or 4 times in my life (that I can remember) when I woke up wondering where the heck I was, what I was all about and where was going!
I didn’t know what to do but I knew there was a bigger more authentic, song to sing… but I didn’t know how to get it out!
The first time, I remember, I was 13 years old. I found myself at odds with my friends, a lousy student, suffering from headaches, stomach pains and sleeplessness. I was uncertain and insecure about who I was and if I mattered. The loneliness and disconnection was torturous and exhausting. The worst was probably the sense of emptiness and hopelessness for my future.
However, by luck or fate I discovered meditation — first through my own contemplation and exploration and then through a little booklet found in my local library. Through that came a life changing “Aha!” moment where I saw myself more clearly than I ever had! I saw my future in HD. My life had meaning and hope! From that day forward my spark was lit and I made it my mission to learn how to help others do the same.
I spent the next 30 years studying and growing. I took countless courses, received coaching and counselling. I became a chiropractor, learned about brain science, the stress and healing functions of the body, and became a mindfulness practitioner.
Through this corona-crisis, the last three decades of exploration, growth and effort have come rushing out in a new form. All the dots have connected and in the last week I have pulled it all together in what I’m calling The SELF Course. A way of connecting with what’s really important for you and plotting your course to get there.
What’s The SELF Course look like?
In The SELF Course is a 4 week mindfulness & meditation course containing soulful life-teachings, specially crafted meditations and focused reflection exercises to help you connect with what’s most important to you, where you’re going, and how you’ll get there. This experiential process will get big results in the quickest way possible to help you create joyful, fulfilling and meaningful results in your life.
Like always, it will be grounded in neurology, physiology, mindfulness science and meditation wisdom. It will be conveyed in ways – with metaphors, examples and stories – that make it usable and understandable for all levels of learners.
